… behauptet zumindest Niall Ferguson in seinem neuen Buch “The Ascent of Money”:
This leads Mr Ferguson to make two timely points. One is to remember that evolution depends on extinction as well as creation. You have to allow ill-adapted techniques to fail if you are going to get something new. As the world rushes around rescuing every bank in sight, it is a reminder that the guarantor-state will later have to administer painful medicine.
Logisch! Das heißt also in etwa, daß jene, die jetzt schreien, der Kapitalismus sei tot und habe sich gerade selbst aufgefressen, im Grunde nichts anderes wollen als die Evolution (Kapitalismus) durch Kreationismus (Planmäßige Staatskontrolle) ersetzen. Mit anderen Worten: Lieber stabile Dinosaurier als hibbelige Delphine und viel häßliches Gewürm. Eine von denen ist Juso-Vorsitzende Franziska Drohsel, die sich nicht entblödet hat, folgendes der FAZ in die Feder zu diktieren:
Die Finanzkrise bestätigt uns darin, dass unsere Kritik am Kapitalismus richtig war und ist. Man kann sagen: Dieses System fährt vor die Wand. Das sieht man jetzt sehr deutlich. (…) Oskar Lafontaine war nicht der einzige Linke, der vor den Auswüchsen des ungebändigten Kapitalismus gewarnt hat. … All diejenigen, die das getan haben, können sich heute bestätigt fühlen.
Aha. All diejenigen sollten sich noch fix anhören, was Ferguson noch so zum Besten zu geben hat:
The other is to observe the wonder of what financial evolution has created. Just now it is only natural to think of the “roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, bubbles and busts, manias and panics, shocks and crashes.”
Das schlechte Bild des Evolutionsprozesses also.
But Mr Ferguson sees something else too: “From ancient Mesopotamia to present-day China…the ascent of money has been one of the driving forces behind human progress: a complex process of innovation, intermediation and integration that has been as vital as the advance of science or the spread of law in mankind’s escape from the drudgery of subsistence agriculture and the misery of the Malthusian trap.”
Und daher:

Nicht wirklich überraschend, oder? Da sieht man doch shcon daran, in welch bedauerlichem Zustand die neuen Bundesländer waren nach der Übernahme. Hörma, dat konntste alles inne Tonne kloppen da hinten. Sorry da ist der Pott durchgekommen^^.
